"The Flash" season 2 will feature Zoom's first appearance, a new Firestorm and possibly the death of Ronnie Raymond in the show.
Two new trailers for "The Flash" season 2 have been revealed teasing TV and comic book fans on what to expect from the show when it airs next week. The first trailer features Prof. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) having a pep talk with Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), hinting that Cisco told Stein about his metahuman status and assured him that his new gift is not a curse. The video also sees the two Flashes, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) teaming-up to save Central City and first appearance of the show's new main villain, Zoom (Tony Todd) as Jay tells Barry that he was responsible for destroying Earth 2 and now comes to destroy another, Screenrant reported.
Zoom's appearance it the trailer is blue in color and it is completely CGI making him look more menacing than Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher). Numerous theories on Zoom's identity have been narrowed down to four names: Future Barry Allen, Edward Clariss/The Rival, an alternate evil version of Wally West and Eddie Thawne.
The second trailer shows another behind-the-scene footage for season 2 and its confirmed that Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh) is the new Firestorm character in the series. Firestorm has been the subject of many rumors due to the fact that Prof. Stein is present in "Legends of Tomorrow", while his other haft Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) is left out of the cast. Then enter Jay Jackson who is an original character for the show and his role is a complete mystery, leaving fans to speculate that Jay could be Ronnie's successor until now.
Ronnie Raymond's disappearance could mean two things, either the latter could live a normal life or possibly die sometime within "The Flash" season 2. Ronnie's death could be the catalyst for Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) to give in to her metahuman powers and become Killer Frost, Fashion&Style reported.
Before Jay Jackson confirmation as Firestorm became true, YouTube channel Emergency Awesome speculated that Jason Rusch could be the new Firestorm. Jason is portrayed by Luc Roderique and he isalso part of the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M project in season 1. Emergency Awesome added that Ronnie could likely die as some point in the show hence the reason why another person could take his place as Firestorm along with Prof. Stein.
"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on October 7 on the CW Network.
