While the TV show counterpart of the manga series “Shingeki no Kyojin” is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2016, it was revealed that the entire manga story is almost done.

The release of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 has been delayed by Director Tetsuro Araki for a good reason as he wants more content from its manga canon to be included in the story.

According to Youth Health Mag, the anime version of the series is only a couple of story arcs behind its manga version.

Araki wanted more material to work on for "Shingeki No Kyojin" even if it takes years before they can continue with the production. So far, fans have been waiting for two years and counting for the follow up season.

The first season of "Attack on Titan" tackled the first four story arcs of the franchise including "The Fall of Shiganshina," "104th Trainees Squad," "Battle of Trost District," and "The Female Titan."

This involves the first 33 chapters of the manga. The series is currently at chapter 53 so basically Araki has only 20 chapters to work around for season two.

This could result in a slower pace and lesser material to explore, making it the exact opposite of the first season which was fast-paced and packed with content.

Moreover, Crossmap reported that season two will cover the "Clash of Titans" story arc. It follows the battle of the 104th Trainees Squad and the Titans to overthrow the reigning fake king.

The Reiss family is the true heir to the throne and they can transform themselves into Titans.

Kevin Ackerman will reportedly try to eat Eren Yaeger while he is in his Titan form so he can get the Coordinate. He will spit out Eren later on after knowing that you need to be a Reiss to acquire it.

The Coordinate is one's ability to control the Titans and that's a powerful weapon to summon.

Aside from Levi Ackerman's death, which is the biggest spoiler of all, we will also see the unveiling of the identities of the "Colossal Titan" and "Armored Titan," which turns out to be Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun.

Lenz will also be revealed as Historia Reiss, daughter of Rod Reiss, who is the rightful successor to the power of the Coordinate.

An ape-like Titan will also be seen in the new season. The said hybrid ape can speak, making him yet another intelligent Titan.
