‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’ Dev Included Microtransactions In-game, Reveals Twin Heroes' Importance

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is a historical action-adventure open world stealth game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft.

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" will adapt a feature that was seen from an earlier title, the "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." Ubisoft has confirmed that players will have the chance to speed up their progress in the game with the use of optional microtransactions.

Senior Producer Francois Pelland confirmed this in an interview with IGN, stating that this is to allow players to save time in obtaining in-game gear.

"The model for 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' is quite similar to 'Black Flag,' allowing players who do not have time to fully explore our huge game world to still be able to eventually acquire the game's most powerful gear as well as other items," said Pelland to the publication.

However, even with this, players who do not opt for microtransactions will not be left behind. All the content in "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" are available without in-game transactions.

Ubisoft also revealed a few new points about the two protagonists of the game, twin brother and sister combo Jacob and Evie Frye. Game Director Scott Phillips revealed to Game Spot that the objective of the creators was to tell the game's story from two perspectives, each of which vary vastly from the other. This way, players are able to see how the situation will play out when using one type of character, and juxtapose it the next time the other character goes through the same situation.

According to Phillips, even the players who have already encountered the two heroes had high praise about them. As playable characters, they offered a wider range of appeal to audiences.

But what the developers feel is the most important aspect of the game is the setting, as it became the backdrop to which everything, from the characters to the story, was built up on.

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" will launch on Oct. 23 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
