Microsoft is only expected to defeat its chief rival, Apple's iPad Pro, in unboxing the Surface Pro 4 soon. But how exactly the Windows 10 maker will pull such a feat? What are the iPad Pro-killing features that the Surface Pro 4 will deliver on release date?
Windows-focused site WinBeta appears to have some clues, picked up from Arabic blog site W4pHub, that partially detail the upcoming Windows hybrid tablet's superior capabilities over the competition. The Surface Pro 4 is supposed to slay its rivals with unique display features.
Super slim screen bezels
In order to outdo the iPad Pro, the Surface Pro 4 will reportedly deploy with screen bezels that nearly are invisible, which is the case for the top, left and right sides of the device. Only the bottom side of the Pro 4 will flash a visible bezel that will remain relatively thin compared to the iOS 9 big tablet.
The rumored build, according to WinBeta, makes sense as Windows 10 in tablet mode seems to focus on the task bar for most of the various app navigations. The report also noted that with the design, it is likely that physical buttons on the Surface Pro 4 will be relocated or become non-existent.
For Surface Pro 4 fans to get a clear idea of its jaw-dropping display profile, the Wp4Hub report included an image render that showed the 2-in1 kit taking a direct page from Dell XPS 13 when in laptop mode.
Smart Frame
Yet the real genius of Microsoft's sequel to the Surface Pro 3 is its incredible ability to automatically change the screen size depending on how it is used. As a tablet, the Surface Pro 4 screen will measure 12-inch and when used as a laptop the display will slightly blow up to 13-inch, the report said.
It appears that the bigger Pro 4 laptop display is for optimized productivity experience while the smaller screen size is for easier handling. However, the engineering behind the Surface Pro 4 killer feature called Smart Frame was not discussed in the report.
Regardless, Windows 10 alone and its numerous desktop-class features give the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 the professional edge over the Apple iPad Pro, experts said. Release date is likely in the immediate following the tablet's reported October 6 unveiling.
