‘Steve Jobs’ Star Michael Fassbender Was More James Franco Than Ryan Gosling: Seth Rogen

Michael Fassbender portrays the dark side of Steve Jobs in the late Apple co-founder's biopic.

Seth Rogen recently compared his "Steve Jobs" co-actor Michael Fassbender to "La La Land" actor Ryan Gosling and "Richard Peter Johnson" star James Franco.

"I was worried he'd be very serious and Gosling-esque, if you will," Rogen said of Fassbender during a recent interview with USA Today. "He's not like that. He's much more Franco-esque."

The biopic "Steve Jobs" stars Fassbender as the title role and Rogen as Steve Wozniak along with Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, Sarah Snook as Andrea Cunningham, Jeff Daniels as John Sculley and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, among others.

According to Rogen, Fassbender was relaxed and easygoing while filming "Steve Jobs," which was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle. Sorkin also wrote the screenplay of the biopic "The Social Network," which starred Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

For Rogen, Fassbender is very funny and has a good sense of humor. Franco's "The Interview" co-actor revealed that the "Steve Jobs" lead actor is a huge fan of Joel Coen's comedy crime film "The Big Lebowski."

After the screening of "Steve Jobs" at the New York Film Festival  on Oct. 3, Saturday, Fassbender showed his dry sense of humor during a press conference when he mocked Ashton Kutcher, who also played the late former Apple CEO in the 2013 biopic "Jobs," which was directed by Joshua Michael Stern.

"Obviously, I don't look anything like Steve Jobs," Entertainment Weekly quoted Fassbender as saying. "That was the first thing I said to Danny. Christian Bale looks a lot more like Steve Jobs."

"I studied Ashton Kutcher," Fassbender also joked.

Before its nationwide release on Oct. 23 in the United States, "Steve Jobs" will open in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 9.
