LG G3 And LG G4 are confirmed to get Android Marshmallow update soon

It is almost confirmed that LG G4 and its predecessor LG G3 are slated to receive the latest Android M Marshmallow anytime soon, thanks to the leaked support page of LG.

It seems that LG G4 and G3 are the first two smartphones to receive the new Android operating system. The news was sparked by the online support page for the smartphones that contain references to Android 6.0. LG is rumored to be working on the update for LG G4 F500S, F500K and F500L and the LG G3 F400S, F400K and F400L.

While the Marshmallow option in the support page leads to an unrelated page, this hinted that the South Korea tech company is working on the customized version of the operating system.

It is still unknown whether other LG handsets are also slated to receive the OS update.

According to reports, Google is set to roll out the Android Marshmallow OS to Nexus 5, 6, 7, 9 and Nexus Player on Oct. 5.

According to Tech Times, other Android-based OEM manufacturers are set to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its devices. HTC announced that it will release the Android OS update to its 15 devices by the end of 2015, including the HTC One M9 and HTC One M8. Samsung, on the other hand, is also rumored to be working on a "major update" for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.

Meanwhile, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will deliver new software features to Android-based devices such as the Doze battery-saving feature, Google Now on Tap, granular app permissions, USB Type-C support, and fingerprint scanner support.
