Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Update: 6 Reasons To Upgrade From Surface Pro 3

2 Confirmed Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Killer Features On Release Date: Smart Frame & Ultra-Thin Bezel

Microsoft is rumored to unload its latest batch of gadgets on October 6 and among the most anticipated is the follow up to the Surface Pro 3 - the Surface Pro 4 that will pop out of the box flashing the mighty Windows 10 and its killer features.

To be sure, reasons are aplenty for Surface Pro 3 owners to give the Pro 4 a hard look and jump in eventually. Six of them are listed below:

Huge specs bump

The first thing that should convince Surface Pro 3 users to leave the device behind and experience the Surface Pro 4 is the significant specs jump that the latter represents. The use of Intel Skylake chip alone gives the assurance that the newer model will impress with up to 1TB of built-in memory and a maximum RAM provision of 16GB with the likely for users to configure the SP4 internal specs to their liking, BGR said.

And the arrival of Skylake with the SP4 also means that the kit is more of a muscle car with improved performance and stability plus the bonus of longer battery life.

Compatible accessories

Microsoft has assured that transitioning from the Pro 3 to the Surface Pro 4 will be as smooth and painless as possible. The latter is true for SP3 users that have made heavy investments on device accessories, which according to the tech giant will still work with the upcoming tablet.

Windows 10

While the Surface Pro 3 is definitely Windows 10-ready, the Pro 4 is more optimized with the new Microsoft operating system. Experts have been saying that the chief reason that Surface Pro 4 is coming is to showcase the Windows 10 features and capabilities best experienced with the new slate.

Biometrics

And among such functions is the entry of biometrics to the Windows 10 system. With either a fingerprint reader or iris scanner working with Windows Hello, logging in and securing a Windows-powered device will never be the same, Gotta Be Mobile said in a report.

5K display flanked by ultra-thin bezels

Rumors say the Surface Pro 4 will stand out thanks to its jaw-dropping design and display hardware - the screen will stun in 5K resolution and such immersive display will be framed in by nearly invisible bezels on the top, left and right sides. Only the bottom screen margin will be slightly noticed, purportedly for optimized apps navigation via the Windows 10 taskbar.

Smart Frame

The whole purpose of the Surface Pro 4 release date is for Microsoft to produce a hybrid device that can actually replace the laptop. It seems that the tech giant is gunning to do just that by deploying the SP4 with an engineering marvel called Smart Frame. The feature, reports say, will physically stretch the Surface Pro 4 display to 13-inch when used as a normal computer and will shrink it back to 12-inch in tablet mode.
