Chasing Life

"Chasing Life" alum Italia Ricci recently revealed that her character April Carver could have survived cancer if the series wasn't cancelled by ABC Family.

In an interview with TV Line, Ricci revealed that "Chasing Life" was actually adapted from the original Mexican series "Terminales."

On that show, April survived cancer, but she later on passed away after being hit by a bus.

According to Ricci, if the series wasn't cancelled by the network, fans would have seen that a miracle could have happened to April and her Big C diagnosis.

"I knew that April ends up passing away by the end of 'Terminales.' I'm not 100 percent sure, but I feel like that's probably something we want to maintain. Although, in the original, she beats cancer... then gets hit by a bus and dies," she said.

Meanwhile, during the show's finale episode for season 2, April told Beth and Dominic that she will no longer undergo any treatments for her diagnosis.

Most fans reacted negatively on the show's portrayal of a cancer patient losing hope. However, the actress clarified that their intention was the exact opposite.

According to her, April decided to no longer undergo treatments because she wants to live out the rest of her days to the fullest. This means that she didn't want to worry about any treatment failing again, and just live the remaining days of her life on earth.

In other news, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith previously told The Hollywood Reporter that there are still a lot of storylines that they can explore for season 3.

Unfortunately, none of these will happen because the series has officially been axed.
