‘Sword Art Online’ Season 3 Release Date at End of 2015 Pushed Back; Animated Movie Confirmed! Watch Teaser Here

The highly anticipated Season 3 for anime series "Sword Art Online" may not be able to make it to the original rumored release date.

The anime has been confirmed to be renewed for a third season. First projection for SAO's third season was supposed to be at the end of 2015, but When Will.net has confirmed that it might be later than that.

"Possible release date of the Sword Art Online Season 3 - end of 2015. There is a possibility that new episodes can come out even later - in the summer of 2016."

YouTube user JnextXgen Studios corroborated the announcement from has confirmed that Season 3 will deal will Arc 6, "Underworld."

Meanwhile IGN has confirmed that there will be an animated movie. The site shared the details.

"The popular anime series Sword Art Online is getting an movie adaptation, A-1 Pictures revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival this weekend."

Further details about the movie from Anime News Network reveal that the movie will be an entirely new story from Reki Kawahara.

"The film project will be a completely new anime work, and Tomohiko Ito is returning from the two TV anime series and the anime special to direct the film at A-1 Pictures. Shingo Adachi is also returning from the TV anime to design the characters."

For fans who continue to crave for more of Sword Art Online, they will also release its soundtrack As described by ANN:

"(The soundtrack will feature) 131 songs titled Sword Art Online Music Collection will ship in Japan on January 27. It will feature Yuki Kajiura's music from the series and previously unreleased tracks on four CDs with a bonus Blu-ray Disc (for footage from Kajiura's live performance at the February 1 "Sword Art Online: Sing All Overtures" event)."
