Dell has launched a few lineups to the XPS family with revamped displays and additional 2-in 1 laptop for the upcoming holiday season.
The American computer tech company launched the improved XPS 13. It has now a 13.3-inch edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass screen that can be configured with or without touch, arguably one of the best Ultrabooks of 2015. XPS 13 features combination Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port, which is eight time the transfer speeds of USB 3.0 at up to 40Gbps and twice as fast as Thunderbolt 2.
Powered by a sixth-generation Intel Skylake processor, it is paired with 16GB of RAM with up to 1TB SSD. Dell also added that the battery can last up to 18 hours plus an additional seven hours using its rechargeable power brick, PCMag reported.
The larger counterpart is the XPS 15 with InfinityEdge superslim bezel that makes it the smallest 15-inch laptop. Its thickness ranges from 11-17mm, which is almost the same with Apple MacBook Air, and weighs just 3.9 pounds.
It is powered by sixth-gen Intel Core processors (dual-core Core i3-6100H, quad-core Core i5-6300HQ, and quad-core Core i7-6700HQ). XPS 15 has also 32GB of DDR4 RAM paired with Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M and 2GB of GDDR5. Internal storage options include an M.2 PCIe SSD or a hybrid drive starting at a 500GB HDD or 256GB SSD.
Dell is proud to feature UHD 4K monitor, which is an IGZO display that has 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut, with 3840 x 2160 screen resolution. XPS 15 is also sporting the new Thunderbolt 3 that gives a full USB 3.1 transfer speeds through a USB-C port, and it can last up to 17 hours.
Dell added XPS 12 2-in-1 laptop to its lineup. It is designed to switch between laptop and tablet easily via a magnetic connection that enables one-handed transition, according to CNET. The attachable keyboard is included and Dell is offering separate covers for the device. This is included in Dell's Latitude series of ultraportables with a magnetic connection to the backlit keyboard and precision touchpad.
It is powered by latest generation of Intel Core m5 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. XPS 12 also sports a 4K Ultra HD display with 3840 x 2160 screen resolution, containing more pixels compared to Full HD display. It has no USB 3.0 ports, but it features Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port, and comes in 128GB and 256GB internal storage configurations.
XPS 12 only weighs 1.75 pounds. The 2-in-1 laptop also includes the custom-built Dell Premier Folio, which provides a stand for the tablet with variable angle positions and also keeps the device safe during travel.
The XPS 13 starts at $799, the XPS 15 at $999, and the XPS 12 starts at $999. While Dell XPS 15 and 13 are now available for purchase, XPS 12 2-in-1 laptop will arrive in November.
