‘Ghostbusters’ Update: ‘Ghostbusters’ 1984 Original Cast Is Incomplete In Paul Feig’s Film Reboot

Paul Feig’s “Ghostbusters” hits theaters in the United States on July 15, 2016.

The original cast members of Ivan Reitman's original 1984 "Ghostbusters" film will not be complete in Paul Feig's forthcoming "Ghostbusters" film reboot.

"Ghostbusters" alum Rick Moranis, who played the role of the accountant Louis Tully in the 1984 "Ghostbusters" film, has confirmed that he would not return in Feig's upcoming film. In his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moranis said that shooting something he already did 30 years from now made "no sense" to him. For the actor, doing the reboot just lacked an appeal to him.

While Moranis expressed his lack of interest in appearing in Feig's forthcoming film, he wished that his co-stars would do well and the film would be terrific.

According to Cinema Blend, Feig's "Ghostbusters" raises a definite intensity of reminiscence for a comedy film in this era. The publication added that people wanted to see a film reboot, such as "Ghostbusters," in the big screen due to the level of restriction the audience had seen in comedy films released more than two decades from now.

Without all members of the original cast from Reitman's film, it is assumed that Feig's upcoming "Ghostbusters" film reboot would be able to stand on its own distinction.

Reitman's "Ghostbusters" followed parapsychology professors who set up a shop as their unique ghost removal service. Feig's upcoming "Ghostbusters" will most likely follow the same premise while showcasing a blend of old and new cast members.

Directed by Feig, "Ghostbusters" stars Sigourney Weaver, Earnie Hudson, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, Kristen Wig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Chris Hemsworth, among others.

Feig's "Ghostbusters" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 15, 2016.
