DJI has unveiled the Osmo, a handheld, fully-stabilized 4K camera that can produce clear and stable selfie.

The Chinese technology company is best known for line of drones, which features a high-resolution cameras and gimbals on their bellies. It allows in taking stunning, smooth video while buzzing along hundreds of feet up in the air.

DJI Osmo uses the company's three-axis gimbal stabilization technology found on other devices according to Apple Insider, like its Phantom drones, to eliminate the shake found on traditional handheld cameras, like a GoPro. It looks like a stunted monopod but it includes 12-megapixels with a 1/2.3-inch sensor and a 94-degree field-of-view lens, 4K camera in a circular housing that rests on the gimbal system.

It also features controls under the grip and a side-mount for smartphones so they can act as view finder and offer access to all of the Osmo camera's controls. Users can also hold Osmo to take steady selfie, Mashable reported. Controls built into the handle of the mount allow users to quickly change shooting angles, adjust settings and control 'smart' functions.

The smart functions of Osmo include panorama mode (the camera auto-pans 360° and stitches the images together for you), a long exposure mode and a slow motion setting that captures at 120 fps at a resolution of up to 1080p.

The Osmo also works with optional accessories like a tripod, a bike mount, or an extension arm. Other accessories include a universal mount for external microphones or an LED light, and an arm that allows two accessories to be mounted to the Osmo at the same time.

Osmo sells at $649 and the shipping starts on Oct.15.
