Michael B. Jordan is rumored to play Boba Fett in "Star Wars: Boba Fett" spinoff.

"Fantastic Four" actor Michael B. Jordan has been reported to be on top of Lucasfilm's actor shortlist to play the character Boba Fett in a "Star Wars: The Boba Fett" spinoff.

Jordan played Johnny Storm/ Human Torch in Josh Trank's Marvel Comics film reboot "Fantastic Four." According to Jeff Sneider of The Wrap (via Mett the Movie Press podcast), Jordan could possibly play the fan favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter. While the information is still regarded as a rumor at this point, it is possible to be part of reality.

According to Cinema Blend, it would be odd and shocking if Jordan would be cast as Fett. The publication mentioned that Fett is a clone of Jango Fett, who was played by "Once Were Warriors" actor Temuera Morrison. The actor played the character in "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith."

Jordan could still play Boba if the character in the forthcoming "Star Wars" spinoff would no longer the same Boba in the second "Star Wars" film. According to rumors, Boba died at some point and someone had taken over his identity. Since the character has a daunting status, a contending bounty hunter could be an interesting inclusion to the project.

Meanwhile, fans are set to J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." It stars an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains played by Oscar Isaac, Hamill, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18. Meanwhile, Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 26, 2017 while Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" premieres in 2019.
