"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev has reportedly become very choosy when it comes to selecting her new projects.
According to Interview magazine, the 26-year-old actress said that she's taking her time before deciding on which new project to star in.
Since she's not in a hurry to land a role, Dobrev said that her priority as of the moment is to make sure that script of the project, and her possible role interests her greatly.
"I'm an artist; content is incredibly important to me. I only want to keep moving up and up in terms of quality and be careful with perception," she told Interview magazine.
Meanwhile, the actress also talked about wanting to do something "dark and gritty."
Just recently, she shared a photo of herself with her new hairstyle, which fans interpreted as the start of something huge for the actress.
In other news, there are speculations that Dobrev no longer felt as though she could grow in "The Vampire Diaries" that's why she left The CW series after six seasons.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress reiterated that she will no longer reprise her role as Elena Gilbert on the show.
Even though she didn't exactly reveal why she left the franchise in the first place, Dobrev made it clear that there's no more turning back for her.
"That chapter is closed, sadly - bittersweet," she said.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
