Charlotte Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin delivered an impressive performance in their pre-season game versus Los Angeles Clippers much to the delight of his fans in Shenzhen, China.
Lin scored 15 points with 6-of-11 shooting. He also dropped four assists, according to Charlotte Observer.
The Hornets are currently enjoying a 3-0 winning streak in the preseason. They previously defeated Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.
Lin's team clinched the 106-94 win against the Clippers this time. The crowd cheered loudly when Lin first touched the ball. Surprisingly, it was his first time to play in mainland China.
The Hornets' team shot well making 48% from the field while adding 42 points in the lane.
When asked about how the Hornets won, Lin said that the consistent aggressiveness of both the first and second unit in the defensive end translated to good offense for their team.
Their impressive defense limited the Clippers to only 18 points in the paint. This is the team that has DeAndre Jordan and Paul Pierce. Chris Paul wasn't able to play because he injured his left finger during practice.
Lin added that the ball moved a lot and selfless plays were made because of that.
Another highlight of the game was the moment when Michael Jordan was acknowledged with around two minutes remaining in the first half.
The crowd's screams were incomparable to the earlier welcome cheer they did for Lin. Jordan's last visit to China was back in 2011.
It's also worth noting that Hornets forward Cody Zeller played exceptionally well with 16 points, 10 rebounds plus a 26-foot 3-pointer during the fourth quarter.
