Love Ranch workers who found Lamar Odom unconscious told 911 operators on Tuesday afternoon that they saw the ex-NBA player take cocaine. However, Joe Odom, his father, thinks his 35-year-old son was maliciously drugged at the Nevada brothel.

"Somebody drugged my son. There's no way he's down there partying crazy like that. No way," Hollywood Life quotes the father. Joe, like any parents of wayward adults, is apparently in an "in denial" stage now, although in the past he has talked about the drug struggles of Lamar who has been hounded by drug rumors over the years.

The father-and-son pair has been at odds for years, with Lamar bitter at Joe for allegedly being absent all his life, the former Lakers player said in 2013. Joe, in turn, is blaming the Kardashians for his son's addiction.

Dr. John O'Dea, the physician from Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center where Lamar is confined, said that the former husband of Khloe Kardashian suffered an ischemic stroke in which there was a lack of blood in a part of his brain. He says what prevented blood from flowing to Lamar's brain is the "potentially lethal mixture of drugs" found in his system.

Love Ranch workers say that Lamar took cocaine and herbal substitutes for Viagra. O'Drea adds that the use of downers and uppers together is extremely dangerous because taking cocaine causes irregular heartbeats and opiates suppress breathing.

Mixing the two types of illegal drugs results in speed-balling which addicts like since it gives them a very smooth high. Police have extracted blood sample from Lamar and sent it to a Las Vegas lab for content analysis.

Doctors have said that the next 48 hours are crucial for Lamar. Khloe reportedly is set to make a medical decision soon, although there is a potential for clash of opinion with Joe. O'Drea says they do not know how much damage Lamar's brain has sustained, but if it was down long enough, he would soon die or be in a vegetable state.
