Ten of the oddest regulations in Chinese schools that might be controversial have something to do with nudity, haircuts, condoms, roll call, scholarship grants, expulsion, military training, daily exercises and cleaning, China News Daily reported.
Female students from Anhui University complained about an underwear-only requirement during a physical fitness test. Although male students took the test separately, the females said that they were uncomfortable feeling almost naked.
Students in Wuzhou City complained after their principal--then labeled "aggressive"--gave them impromptu haircuts. The principal wanted the students with "too long" and "improperly styled" hair to have the proper haircut in a barber's shop.
In a university in Guizhou Province, the observation of World Contraception Day was criticized because the school handed out condoms, diaphragms, a one-hour sex education video and contraception booklets to freshmen students.
For roll-calling purposes, Wuhan Electromechanical Engineering School handed out smartphones to students, while a Changsha University of Science and Technology journalism teacher made a Wi-Fi system for students to connect to for attendance.
In Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province, Aojiang Middle School collected money from parents and granted scholarship to students through a lottery draw.
In Kaifeng, a student was reportedly expelled after shouting his love for a female student during a military training session.
Another military training in Anhui Xinhua University was criticized when student president Shi Xiu stood in an open-roof Audi limousine to inspect the student troops, which is similar to China's National Day military parade.
Lastly, parents in Jinan City in Shangdong Province complained about a primary school putting their children on the roof to do a 15-minute exercise every day, while students at Nanchang University complained when they were asked to clean their own dormitories and toilets.
