‘ANTM’ Alums Analeigh Tipton, Yaya DaCosta: Goodbye Modelling, Hello Acting

After 22 cycles and 12 years, "America's Next Top Model" is saying goodbye to its fans. Among all of the alumni of The CW modelling competition created by Tyra Banks, only Yaya DaCosta and Analeigh Tipton were able to successfully transition from modelling to acting.

In fact, in 2017, both DaCosta and Tipton will have had starred in a film with "La La Land" star Ryan Gosling. After failing to win "ANTM" cycle 3, DaCosta appeared in one episode of "Eve." She went on to star in TV series "All My Children," "Ugly Betty" and "Chicago Fire," among others.

The "ANTM" cycle 3 second placer played the late Whitney Houston in the biopic "Whitney" and is set to star with Gosling, Matt Bomer and Russell Crowe in the 2016 crime thriller "The Nice Guys."  Before the release of "Whitney," a rep for DaCosta and "Let's Stay Together" director Joshua Bee Alafia confirmed to Us Weekly that they ended their two-year marriage.

On the other hand, after being defeated by Samantha Potter and McKey Sullivan in "ANTM" cycle 11 in 2008, Tipton appeared in one episode of "The Big Bang Theory." Three years later, she starred in "Crazy, Stupid, Love." with Gosling, Julianne Moore and Steve Carell, "The Green Hornet" with Christoph Waltz, Jay Chou and Seth Rogen and in "Damsels in Distress" opposite Adam Brody and Greta Gerwig.

The "ANTM" cycle 11 third placer went on to star in several TV series, including "Hung," "The Power Inside" and "Manhattan Love Story." Recently, she reunited with her "Manhattan Love Story" co-star Jake Dorman in "Limitless."

After starring in "Buttwhistle," "Lucy," "Two Night Stand" and "Mississippi Grind," Tipton will star in five films in 2016, which are "The Runaround," "In Dubious Battle," "Viral," "The Force" and "Sadie."

In September, Tipton was at the Toronto International Film Festival with his "Mississippi Grind" co-actor Ryan Reynolds, Daily Mail reported.
