Serie A 2015-2016: Palermo vs Inter Milan, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

| Oct 20, 2015 04:40 AM EDT

Inter Milan's Jeison Murillo (R) competes for the ball with Juventus' Simone Zaza during their recent Serie A matchup.

Middling team Palermo (3-4-1, 10 points), who had just gotten out of their rut with a victory in their last game, is set to clash with erstwhile 2015-2016 Serie A league leaders Inter Milan (5-1-2, 17 points) at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Saturday, October 24.

The Rosaneros defeated cellar-dwelling club Bologna, 1-0, at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara last Sunday to snap their four-game losing skid that left them in the middle of the league table after a strong start to the season.

Attacking midfielder Franco Vázquez scored the lone goal of the match at the 23rd minute for Giuseppe Iachini's boys from a brilliant pass by Swedish midfielder Oscar Hiljemark, as reported by ESPN.

Meanwhile, Internazionale settled for a goalless draw against defending champions Juventus in their derby d'Italia game last Sunday at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The 0-0 tie prevented Roberto Mancini's men from reclaiming the top spot of the overall standings who is currently held by Fiorentina.

Despite the scoreless affair, the match was hard-fought with many chances for both sides. I Nerazzurri almost broke the deadlock with a curling shot from Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozović, but Juve's legendary captain and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon swiped it onto the crossbar to save the point for Le Zebre, as reported by SkySports.

Inter will look to go back to their winning form in this match against Palermo as they have been winless in their last three games with a loss to Fiorentina and drawn outings with Sampdoria and Juve respectively.

The prediction is a 3-1 victory for Inter Milan.

Palermo starting lineup (3-5-1-1 formation): Sorrentino; Struna, Gonzalez, Andjelkovic; Rispoli, Rigoni, Maresca, Hiljemark, Lazaar; Vazquez; Gilardino

Inter Milan starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Handanovic; Santon, Miranda, Murillo, Juan Jesus; Brozovic, Medel, Melo, Perisic; Icardi, Jovetic
