"The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec previously hinted that there will so much more to Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) relationship this season.
Fans immediately speculated that the two would become the new "it" couple especially since Elena (Nina Dobrev) is no longer around.
However, what Plec, Caroline Dries and the other producers and writers might have missed is the fact that some fans think pairing Caroline and Stefan with each other could be a bad idea.
One fan wrote on the Design N Trend website that Caroline and Stefan don't have any chemistry at all.
The fan added that it seems that producers are trying so hard to make the onscreen partnership work, but fans are not really buying it.
"Stefan and Caroline don't even have the romantic chemistry just friendship. To be honest Caroline looks/feels way better with Enzo. I am done with the show," the fan wrote.
Meanwhile, in the recent episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, fans learned in the flash-forward scene that Caroline will be engaged to her fiancé three years from the present time.
Towards the end of the episode, fans also learned that this guy is most likely not Stefan because she doesn't want to talk to him anymore.
In other news, fans are now speculating on who Caroline will end up with, and according to TV Line, some of the options could include Alaric (Matt Davis), Tyler (Michael Trevino), Enzo (Michael Malarkey) or Matt (Zach Roerig).
"The Vampire Diaries" will air another episode on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
