Android Marshmallow was released a couple of weeks back along with Google's latest flagship device. According to Android Authority, the possibility of an official Android Marshmallow update seems quite unlikely at the moment.

However, the users can install the new unofficial firmware update based on the Cyanogen Mod 12.1 Kernel. This will be available through the AOSP ROM.

The OnePlus One users are required to root their devices and also unlock the boot loader if they want to install this update in their device. It is also required to update the USB drivers of the computer, in order to be compatible with OnePlus One devices.

A further requirement is for the USB debugging mode to be enabled during the entire process of installing the custom ROM version of Android Marshmallow. The device must also be equipped with enough battery capacity and also a stable internet connection to complete the process of installation smoothly and without any errors.

Android Marshmallow will bring a lot of major changes to the device. It will make the device really fast for starters, in addition with wiping out the problem of overheating if the device.

The upgrade will also incorporate the support for USB Type C connection, which will in turn make the charging of the device really fast, the upgrade will also bring in a lot of new animation in different parts of the menu, in addition with a new "hidden" Marshmallow game.

It will also add the option of DND in the home screen drop down menu, according to BGR. Other features which will be added are Bluetooth 4.2, fingerprint scanner support, Android Pay support, and 4G LTE support.
