"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" has clearly weighed on "The Last Witch Hunter" by mounting up $600,000. The sequel to the hit archival-type ghost movie is clearly winning over the witches. Among other outspoken titles "Jem and the Holograms" and "Rock the Kasbah" had a tough face off at the box office during the Thursday previews.

Paranormal Activity's sixth itineration is beating the bass with joy, as the results that came out on Thursday night made it victorious over Vin Diesel's The Last Witch Hunter. The later could reap a decent $525,000 on the opening night and lost the lead by $75,000, Variety reported.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is set in a house fitted with cameras all over the place to record the supernatural events taking place around the house, which was not a hard guess. However, the newest sequel has added few extra twists and is breaking all the bounds to creep out the audience.

As seen in The Ghost Dimension trailer, the movie breaks the ice with a spooky clip of two little girls who, for their ghostly character, can somehow respond back to the live viewers. Soon the family discovers a camera that can capture beyond what human eyes can see; a dimension where evil rules and truth slowly unwinds slowly with each jump scare at a time.

The Last Witch Hunter was comparatively less ravishing, considering the big gun from Fast and Furious 7 and whole lot amount of CGI. Perhaps fans are more interested in Diesel's car racing skills than his artfulness in the witch hunt.

However, the numbers are still prone to fluctuation and the future forecast also depend on the scope of the cinema coverage and public reviews. Paramount expects "The Ghost Dimension" to earn between $10-$12M in the opening week, while "Witch Hunter" has been billed at a hopeful $15-$19M for the same duration.

Moderate players like Bill Murray's "Rock the Kasbah" reaped out $75,000 during the Thursday launch and is estimated to return $6M while" Jem" by Universal pictures stood at $34,000 during and is looking at a $7M run.Based on current sales, the performance of all the four titles is far below their anticipated target, Deadline reports.

The most thrilling battle was between Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension versus The Last Witch Hunter. People voted with their money, and the former is emerging as the box office champion This proves that the jump scare tactics of the filmmakers are never getting old anytime soon.
