If you have an application ready and are confused about the perfect platform to launch the same, then you can rely on the recent survey.

App Annie Index conducted a survey between two major application platforms - Google Play and Apple's App Store. The result of the survey was that Apple's App Store generates more revenue, while Google Play ranks top when it comes to app download.

According to the survey, both Apple and Google have gained diverging growth during the third quarter of 2015.

Google Play was able to expand its number of downloads through first time smart phone users, as Android phones have recently plunged various markets such as India and Southeast Asia. On the other hand, Apple store is increasingly popular and gains strength in its strong market - China.

The growth of Apple App Store has depicted a continuous increase after the launch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the market. It needs to be cross checked if the same growth continues for iPhone 6s and 6s plus. China leads in the market of iOS app download and huge revenues were generated through the download of games from the Apple's App Store.

On the other hand, when it comes to Android, Google Play Store has the maximum number of downloads. If statistics are to be believed, then social media platform gained maximum number of downloads in Android store. Just as the case of iOS, Google Play Store also gained huge revenue through game downloads in the third quarter of 2015.
