‘Supergirl’ Season 1 Episode 1: Executive Producers Talks Melissa Benoist As Kara Zor-El

Melissa Benoist is Supergirl.

"Supergirl" Executive Producers Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Andre Kreisberg, and Sarah Schechter have shared their thoughts on the CBS series "Supergirl" lead star Melissa Benoist.

In their interview with Variety, Adler said that when he and his colleagues first met Benoist, she had been exactly who they had seen in their heads and their hearts. The executive producer added that one started knowing her and writing to her that they had been so thrilled to bring her to everyone.

According to Schechter, seeing Benoist become a hero, seeing the way people respond to her, and seeing her with children were something to look at. The executive producer added that the actress had that valiant traits, which came from a optimistic place.

Meanwhile, Season 1, entitled "Pilot," saw 24-year-old Kara Zor-El living in National City and assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant, as per Spoilers Guide. She also worked with her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and the well-known photographer James Olsen, who had been hired by Grant as the new art director for the publication Daily Planet.

While she had to preserve her pristine enablement with her human companions, her inner self as she flew up high as Supergirl to combat crime.

Aside from Melissa as Zor-El/ Kara Danvers/ Supergirl, "Supergirl" Season 1 also stars Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Calista Flockhart, Laura Benanti, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and Glenn Morshower, among others.

"Supergirl" Season 1 Episode 1 aired in CBS on Oct. 26 while Episode 2 "Stronger Together" is set to air on Nov. 2.
