Capcom has revealed the 15th character “Street Fighter 5,” out of a total launch roster of 16.
Executive Producer Yoshinori Ono announced at Sony's Paris Games Week press conference that Dhalsim is the additional character for the game. He will be joining the roster including Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, M Bison, Vega, Zangief, Birdie, Cammy, Karin, Nash, R. Mika and Laura.
Aside from the additional character for the game, Yoshinori Ono also announced that “Street Fighter 5” will be released on Feb. 16, 2016 across PlayStation 4 and PC. In line with the announced release date, the Japanese video game developer and publisher released a new trailer starring Dhalsim.
Dhalsim, described with a beard, possessed a arcing projectiles in “Street Fighter 5” and a modified teleportation ability. The yoga master was debuted in 1991's “Street Fighter 2.”
Six additional characters will be joining the “Street Fighter 5” in the first year of launch, IGN reported. However, Capcom only hinted at their identities with silhouettes. All six will be available or free if players can earn the in-game currency.
Capcom stated earlier this year that players will be able to unlock all of the DLC characters for free by merely playing the game. They will earn an in-game currency called Fight Money while playing “Street Fighter 5,” and will be able to spend it on characters.
Capcom also held a second beta test for “Street Fighter 5” over the weekend, following a disastrous initial beta in July. Street Fighter 5 will be launched in the North America and Europe, according to Polygon.
