"The Proposal" star Sandra Bullock recently recalled how co-star George Clooney served has her wing man on a previous occasion, with his quips contributing to the beginning of a four-year romance.

Bullock during a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood, said having spent time with Clooney at a function, the "Tomorrowland" star walked up to an admirer of Bullock's saying, "If you don't marry her, I will."

Ever since Clooney's comments were made, Bullock and her admirer began getting to know each other. "So we were together for four years after that, thanks to George," she said.

"The Blind Side" actress however, told the entertainment channel, Clooney was merely joking about marrying her, adding that he could never marry anyone except for Amal Alamuddin. "He waited 30 years to do that," Bullock said.

The two Hollywood A-listers who have known each other for a long time appeared previously in "Gravity," and were paired together to promote their latest cinematic venture, "Our Brand Is Crisis."

Having moved on since Clooney's matchmaking days, the Oscar winner was seen at the premiere of her film in hand with her latest beau, Bryan Randall.

The pair attended Jennifer Aniston's private wedding to Justin Theroux in August, according to People. However, the premiere has been dubbed as the couple's first official red-carpet appearance.

The event marks the first public relationship for Bullock since splitting in 2010 from ex-husband Jesse James, when it was revealed he had been unfaithful.

Working as a professional photographer Randall is based mainly in Los Angeles. Having worked there for nine years, he runs Bryan Randall Photography.

He has also partnered with the Actor's Company, photographing headshots for aspiring actors.

Prior to photography, Randall worked as a model throughout the 1990s. He has posed in menswear for fashion houses including Saint Laurent.
