With each passing day, Glenn's fate on AMC's The Walking Dead gets dimmer and dimmer. No matter how many times we replay Glenn's apparent demise on TV, it always ends the same in our heads -- with Glenn getting served up in a zombie buffet.
Let's be real.
There aren't many ways Glenn can somehow miraculously survive his current situation, but here are 4 ways Glenn lives to fight another day.
#1 Hide under the dumpster
Okay so this dumpster is obviously there for a reason, and if Glenn can somehow slip underneath it without the zombie horde noticing, he can wait it out until Nicholas gets completely consumed by these brain-hungry fiends.
Once underneath, all Glenn has to do is keep quiet, stab any walker that comes after him with a knife and wait it out until someone comes and gets him like Rick, who could be nearby or maybe even Maggie when she finds out he didn't make it back.
#2 Use the flare gun
Let's not forget, Glenn has a flare gun.
He could conceivably fire off said flare gun, drawing the attention of the zombie horde away from himself while he again makes a break for it under the dumpster.
These walkers are akin to a deer in the headlights. A flare gun going off would totally distract them, right?
#3 Surprise! Manhole
In a few unaired scenes shown on the 2015 Comic Con trailer for Season 6 of The Walking Dead, Maggie and Aaron are shown traversing an underground sewer system where Glenn could have possibly escaped to.
Who's to say that there's not a manhole under that dumpster Glenn is so conveniently lying next to? It's absolutely plausible that while these walkers are busy turning Nicholas' insides into human spaghetti, Glenn crawls underneath that dumpster and discovers a manhole.
Glenn then uncovers said manhole and slips through unnoticed.
#4 The whole thing is just a Nicholas PTSD hallucination
The guy's been having them the entire episode.
Hallucinations brought about by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder are delusions and symptoms of psychosis. In other words, Nicholas may be going crazy.
So it's totally possible that Nicholas just imagined the whole thing.
An interesting theory going around the web now is that right before Glenn and Nicholas climbed the dumpster, two clicking sounds were heard as Nicholas tried to fire his gun while Glenn was putting his away. This signifies that Nicholas is out of ammo.
So how could he have shot himself in the head, if he was out of ammo? Riiiiiight.
Michael Traynor, the actor who plays Nicholas says it's possible.
"That would be interesting. I mean, you know, with Tyreese's episode when he dies, there was this sort of strange fever dream, so it could all be a snapback. I think they're endlessly creative on the show, and they incorporate really complex devices to help tell an interesting story, so that's a possibility," said Traynor.
