Titanfall 2 is one of the most anticipated game of 2016.

Respawn Entertainment recently announced that the console-exclusive sci-fi shooter "Titanfall" will finally find its way into the mobile platform in 2016.

"Titanfall" will be released on the Android and iOS platform and development of the game is headed by online game developer Nexon along with Los Angeles-based studio Particle City.

Respawn Entertainment co-founder and CEO Vince Zampella told Digital Trends, "Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons. Nexon's unrivaled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences. And with Particle City, we are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere."

Zampella added that are planning to create a new type of "Titanfall" video game, rather than just porting the existing game into the mobile platform. The recent increase in terms of GPU and networking capabilities of mobile devices allowed Respawn Entertainment to create a deeply immersive and reach content.

It is still unclear whether the mobile version of "Titanfall" will fall on the first-person-shooter genre.

Aside from the confirmed mobile version of "Titanfall," Respawn Entertainment and Nexon are currently working with Electronic Arts on another "Titanfall" project. Additionally, Nexon announced earlier this year that it is planning to release an online PC version of the game to Asian markets.

Respawn Entertainment is also working on a sequel for "Titanfall." Regarding its supported platform, Zampella said that it will not be exclusive to Windows and Xbox One, instead it will support multiple platforms, according to Engadget.
