Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus recently announced that it will release a new unlocked handset dubbed the OnePlus X. The new smartphone is a follow up to the flagship device OnePlus 2 which was released in August.

Just like in its previous product launches, the OnePlus X is available through invite only. The smartphone will hit the United Kingdom market first on Nov. 5 and will fetch a price tag of £199. It will soon make its way into the United States on Nov. 19 and will cost $249. OnePlus is also planning to release a special Ceramic edition which the company plans to exclusively release in Europe and India only.

The OnePlus X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The same chipset powers some flagship devices such as the LG G3, Motorola Moto X and the OnePlus One.

The phone has dual-SIM capabilities, which is useful for people who often travel abroad. It also has a non-removable 2525mAh battery pack. It has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space which is expandable up to 128GB via the microSD card slot, according to Engadget. For its camera, the OnePlus X has a 13-megapixel rear facing camera capable of recording 1080p videos. It also has a 7.6-megapixel front facing camera.

According to CNET, it runs on OxygenOS which is OnePlus' custom operating system based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
