More high-quality food will soon be sold to Chinese supermarkets after agriculture firms from China and Australia signed an agreement of partnership.

About 50 enterprises participated in the said deal that is expected to improve Australian agricultural investment.

New Hope Group chair Liu Yonghao said in Canberra that the move aims to solve the growing demand of high-quality products like lamb, mutton, beef and dairy in China.

The Executive Agreement on Agricultural and Food Safety 100 of Chinese and Australian Enterprises (ASA 100) was signed by Liu and FMG/Minderoo Group Chair Andrew Forrest with President Xi Jinping and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott in attendance.

Liu assured that through ASA 100, they will personally defend the quality of food distributed to China and products will be marked under one brand and logo.

As food safety is the number one priority in the country, Liu said that firms from the world's top food producers will bring a unique experience to Chinese consumers.

Aside from Liu's New Hope Group, beverage company Wahaha and other high-quality food producers participated in the ASA 100.

ASA 100 members will meet annually with the state, territorial and federal ministers and key players in food market from each country. These schemes are a result of China and Australia's partnering economies.

Forrest, meanwhile, said that Australia's limited market for meat and dairy products fulfills China's demand for it.

He noted that there is absolutely a need to multiply the amount of products from Australia to be handed out to China, and the only way to do that is for both countries to work and cooperate with each other.
