Avengers: Infinity War is a two-part superhero film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo as part of phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

New "Avengers: Infinity War" details will have Loki teaming up with Thanos in the film, as well as possible deaths within the ranks of the Avengers.

Marvel Studios two-part Avengers film is rumored to have not one, but two villains as the Asgardian trickster, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will likely return in the third installment, joining forces with the Mad Titan, Thanos. It is theorized that Thanos might actually come to Loki in order to secure the Tesseract, one of the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Moviepilot reported.

Comic book fans and movie goers may recall that in the first Avengers film, Loki was tasked by Thanos to retrieve the Tessaract in exchange for an army to invade earth, but ultimately failed to do so as he and his army were defeated by Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The Tessaract was taken away on Asgard and the last part of "Thor: The Dark World" sees Loki disguised as Odin (Anthony Hopkins) taking over his kingdom, setting in motion events leading to "Thor: Ragnarok".

This theory will likely make sense since Thanos will be looking for the Infinity Stones on his own after the many failures of his supposed "pawns" and will be going Asgard to retrieve the Tesseract from Loki, either with an alliance or by force.

Aside from the Loki and Thanos team up, there are also rumors of possible character deaths in "Avengers: Infinity War" and the speculated Avenger members include Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), MNR reported.

Recent reports hinted that the Vision (Paul Bettany) will be the first member to die at the hands of Thanos due his Mind Stone. Part 1 of the film will feature the Avengers teaming with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop Thanos, but will likely fail in their mission leading to several deaths and Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will be the proxy leader for a new Avengers team in part 2.

"Avengers: Infinity War" part 1 is slated to be release on May 4, 2018, while part 2 is scheduled on May 3, 2019.
