Gorgeous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Concept Stuns With Rumored SD 820, 4GB RAM As The Banner Specs

Reports indicate that the premium Google Nexus 6P is out of stock and it will be a long wait before Huawei is able to replenish its inventory. Why not wait instead for the 2016 Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S7, that likely will have an earlier release date than the Galaxy S6.

February 2016 release date

Picking up on local on local media reports from South Korea, G4Games reported that the GS7 is slated for introduction in early January 2016, which is but a few weeks away. It was not mentioned in the report but it is likely that the unpacking will coincide with the CES 2016 is Las Vegas, which kicks off January 6.

Following the S7 intro, the report claims that the device will be on store shelves by the first week of February so the patience of those holding out for the S6 sequel will not be stretched too thin.

SD 820 and Exynos 8890 GS7 variants

As in previous years, Samsung will reportedly deploy the S7 bearing two different but equally powerful engines under the hood. The company will use its own muscle car, the Exynos 8890 processing chip, and Qualcomm's much-hyped Snapdragon 820. Regardless, any of the two ending up on the GS7 will make render the device the most capable in its class.

600mbps wireless connectivity speed

By default, the Galaxy S7 will be cleared out of the gate with a Category 12 LTE chip. For users, that would mean wireless Internet connection of up to 600mbps.

25-megapixel or 12-megapixel rear camera lens

The rumors contradict on how powerful the main S7 camera is right out of the box. The earlier speculations point to a 25MP rear shooter that iDigitalTimes said will include a "192-point hybrid autofocus system." The benefit, of course, is high-quality clips and images.

But in the latest reports, the S7 could feature a 12-magepixel camera with sensor that is 1/2-inches for top-notch image quality.

32-bit audio converter

The Galaxy S7 also promises to deliver the best sound reproduction in a mobile device with the use of a 32-bit audio converter technology, G4Games said.

3D Touch-like feature

As expected, Samsung will match the iPhone 6S 3D Touch, which BGR said will debut with the Galaxy S7 soon.

10% cheaper than the S6

But likely to be the biggest attraction to the Galaxy S7 is the possibility that Samsung will sell it at a lower price when compared to the GS6 introductory price. The S6 came out at around $750 with 32GB internal memory and unlocked, which means the S7 will sell starting at no more than $675.

And as a bonus, the Galaxy S7 on release date could end up as the first Samsung flagship to get a taste of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
