Legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach confirmed the rumors of a possible comeback fight for Georges St-Pierre.

Roach has been in contact with the two-time UFC Welterweight Champion both as a striking coach and - to a certain extent - a confidant.

"So we came up with a process," Roach shared. "He's going to train for a fight. He's going to have a six-week training camp. And at the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he's ready to fight and he's hungry for it like he always has been, he's going to do it."

St-Pierre stepped away from the UFC octagon almost two years ago after winning a debatable split decision against Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.

During this hiatus, the Saint-Isidore, Quebec native eluded questions about his future in fighting.

Now, things have changed, as some of his teammates and coaches spilled the beans of a potential UFC return.

"I think it's really smart to do that to see where he's at in his mind," said Freddie Roach on GSP. "Does he really want to fight again or not?"

On the other hand, UFC welterweight contender Rory McDonald revealed a little bit of what's going on inside the mind of his close friend and long-time training partner.

"From what we've talked about, he's not coming back for the belt," McDonald stated during a recent fan Q&A in Dublin, Ireland. "He's coming back for the odd fight I think that interests him."

He even quipped: "If... if he comes back... Okay, keep it in your pants. I don't know if he's coming back. But as far as I know, if he does I think he's more interested in super fights and whatnot."

At the end of the day, these are all just speculations from people who are close to Georges St-Pierre. One thing's for sure, however, if - or when - GSP decides to strap on his four-ounce gloves once again, fans will surely look forward to this long-awaited super fight.
