Longtime friends and competitors LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony showcased their individual greatness as they duel in Cleveland on Wednesday night.
James and Anthony both had a bad shooting night but that didn't stop them from grinding it out the entire game.
LeBron only shot 9 of 23 while Melo shot 6 of 18 from the field.
After being down for two quarters, the Cavs rallied in the final two quarters and ended up getting away with a 10-point victory at 96-86, Slam Online reported.
According to Bleacher Report, the Cavs held the Knicks to only 32 percent shooting after Melo and company shot the lights in the first quarter at 62 percent.
In the middle of the game, James ripped his sleeves as it is preventing him from shooting comfortably. The 4-time MVP had been very vocal about his dislike for the sleeved jerseys. In fact, the Cavs didn't wear it last year.
He later on said that he was just frustrated about his poor shooting and the sleeves were the only one he could lash out his frustration with.
At first, James and the rest of the team kept complaining about the calls. Coach David Blatt said that they all stopped talking to officials when they started playing their games.
James and Anthony were both part of the star-studded 2003 NBA Draft. LeBron ranked first while Melo ranked third. Both of them revived the Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets.
In the highlight reel, you will see both players showing respect for each other and giving their A game for the fans and their teams. There was no trash talking or showing the other guy up, ESPN reported.
