Some Sony android phones has now been secured with the latest update that fixes the “Stagefright” bug, which is known to exploit a flaw in the Android media viewer.

Google has rolled out the latest Android Marshmallow update to the Nexus handsets. However, different devices will get the new update at various release dates. Here is the Android Marshmallow release news for Sony Xperia Z2, Z3, Z4, Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact, M4 Aqua and Z5.

For Sony Xperia Z5 devices, owners will have to deal with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop until the electronics maker Sony puts the Android Marshmallow update in 2016. Recent reports suggest that the tech giant is working on improving its Stamina Mode battery feature to maintain its above average standby times.
According to Techno Buffalo, Sony's complete Xperia Z5 lineup will benefit from improved battery life with the Stamina Mode in Android M.

The company's Stamina Mode will increase by 400% by closing down unwanted background tasks when a user's handset is not in use.

There is no information on whether the electronics company will put the new platform update in older Sony Xperia handsets or not. Sony said that they are working hard to bring this big update to as many of their handsets as possible, as fast as they can.

According to Venture Capital Post, the update is confirmed to roll out to Sony M4 Aqua through an OTA release. No particular date has been mentioned; however, various reports suggest that the Android 6.0 M update will rollout to Sony devices by the end of 2015 or after 2016 kicks in.

Other devices that will get the Android Marshmallow update are Sony Xperia Z2, Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, among others.
At present, it is not known whether devices such as Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra will get the latest update or not.
