The "Wonder Woman" standalone movie is coming in 2017, but that is not stopping the rumor mill from piling over. The latest reports speak of a possible plot point that might be the basis of the film and also carry over somewhat into "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
According to a report from Heroic Hollywood, the "Wonder Woman" movie timeline will be set before the action-filled events of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." In the film, Ares is hunting down a very powerful magical sword that can allow him to become more powerful than the Olympian gods.
From what the source had to say, Ares managed to steal the weapon from the Amazons, but getting it to work is easier said than done. The problem here is that Ares is not powerful enough to activate the sword, so in order to do so, he would need to kick star World War 3.
By doing so, Ares, the God of War, would gain enough power to activate the sword.
"So sources tell me that Ares has a blade he stole from the Amazons, it has enough power to make him the most powerful God and take over Olympus," says a source who allegedly spoke with Heroic Hollywood.
The source went on to add that in the final battle, the sword was lost, and this is why Wonder Woman is appearing in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" because she is seeking to find the sword. Whether or not she will find the sword is up in the air, and fans may have to watch the movie find out.
When it comes down to who might play the God of War on the big screen, rumors have it that Sean Bean from "Game of Thrones" and "Lord of the Rings" is the front runner. Furthermore, the sorceress Circe is also rumored to appear as one of the villains.
Actress, Eva Green, is rumored for the role. She has featured in films such as "300: Rise of an Empire", "Sin City" and "Casino Royale."
