While fans of AMC's The Walking Dead await a glimpse of the fate of one of their beloved characters, news that a new character, one prominently featured in the comic book series from which the show is based off of, will soon make his presence felt in the season six finale.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is best remembered for his stints on 'The Good Wife' and 'Watchmen' has been cast as the villainous Negan, who in the comic book version of Robert Kirkman's zombie melodrama was responsible for Glenn Rhee's death.
Morgan also played Denny Duquette in Grey's Anatomy.
Negan infamously takes his barbed-wire laced bat and uses it to maul Glenn into his shocking death.
Whether or not the show will follow the comics exactly is left up to speculation. As of now, Glenn's fate is unknown but is expected to be revealed within the next few episodes before the mid-season finale.
The 49-year old Morgan began his career in 1991 with the film Uncaged, and has since then appeared in over 25 feature films. He will join the cast of The Walking Dead as a guest star this season before being promoted to series regular in season seven.
No Glenn
Fans of the comic book series recall Glenn's apparent death at the hands of Negan and his bat, named Lucille.
On the television series, Glenn was last seen falling off a dumpster in a dead end while being surrounded by a horde of zombies.
The situation seems dire and impossible to get out of, but fans are hoping that the character played by Steven Yeun, who remains one of the original characters from the first season, has somehow made it out alive.
In episode five titled "Now", Maggie and Aaron went out to search for Glenn after receiving news that he didn't make it back and that his status was unknown.
They traversed the sewers beneath Alexandria to try and search for a way to get to where Glenn was last known to be but were met with, apart from the expected sewer zombies, the zombie horde making its way to Alexandria.
At current, the group also has no knowledge of the fate and whereabouts of companions Daryl, Abraham and Sasha, although it is learned that the next episode will focus on this trio.
