Chad Stahel’s ‘John Wick 2’ Joined By Ruby Rose, Riccardo Scamario, Peter Stormare

The cast ensemble of Chad Stahelski's upcoming film "John Wick 2" is growing.

According to Deadline, Keanu Reeves' hitman John Wick was set to meet new friends and catch up with some familiar faces in the "John Wick" sequel. The film has added Ruby Rose from Paul W.S. Anderson's action sci-fi "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," Riccardo Scamario from John Wells' comedy drama "Burnt," and Peter Stormare from the crime thriller series "Fargo." 

Since there is not clear information as to who they are playing, it was assumed that they would play the roles of hired assassins in the upcoming sequel, as per Collider. While the new actors are set to showcase their combat skills in the film, how they would impact that plot's sequel is yet to be revealed, according to the publication.

Set as the sequel to "John Wick," "John Wick 2" follows Wick's continuing exploit. Aside from Rose, Scamario, and Stormare, the film also stars Lance Reddick, Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo,  Margaret Daly as The operator, Ian McShane as Winston, and Reeves as Wick. Common is also set to part of the film as the main villain.

Along with Stahelski set to helm the film, Derek Kolstad is on board to pen the screenplay of the upcoming action film. Robert Bernacchi, Kevin Scott Frakes, Vishal Rungta, and Jeff Waxman are set to co-produce the film, among others.

The film is still in its early phase of development, so exact details on the core plot, additional characters and cast, and release date are yet to be revealed.

Sttahelski's "John Wick 2" is slated to premeire in theaters in the United States in 2016.
