Lang Lang has met with Swiss watchmakers to come up with timepieces designed by him.

A luxury timepiece designed by renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang is expected to come out in March next year.

Before he staged his solo concert recently, he shared his innovative watch designs with Swiss timepiece experts.

After discussion, the two parties arrived at plans to release two new watches, which will feature the pianist's signature and musical notes.

The 33-year-old musician said that he hoped the timepieces to be distinguished by their musical elements. Asked about his design philosophy, he shared that he is into pieces that are modern, high-quality and fashionable.

The "Lang Lang watch" will be manufactured by Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot. It will be unveiled at the annual Basel World Watch Exhibition.

Hublot, known for making elegant and classic timepieces, was founded in 1980.

In China, Swiss luxury timepieces, a status symbol for the society's upper middle class, have been gaining popularity. This comes along with the growth and expansion of Chinese economy and middle class.

Currently, the country is the third-biggest market for Swiss timepieces.

Statistics from the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry show that the value of Swiss watch exports to the country has increased from $50 million in 2000 to $1.41 billion in 2014.

Meanwhile, the famous musician has also recently announced he will be touring China starting Dec. 13 in Guangzhou. He will hold shows in six locations including Taipei, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Lang came from the successful launch of his recital album, "Lang Lang in Paris," earlier in October.
