Lamar Odom may have escaped death after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel due to drug overdose. However, he possibly would not escape the law for drug abuse.
Associated Press reports that according to New County District Attorney Angela Bello, the sheriff's office submitted last week a potential felony drug charge against the former NBA star. The husband of Khloe Kardashian could possibly face one count of unlawful use of cocaine or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
His drug use was confirmed by blood tests conducted on Odom while he was still in critical condition. Authorities secured a warrant on Oct. 13 to take a blood sample from the former Lakers player.
Odom is still recovering and unaware that he was found unconscious at the Nevada brothel after taking cocaine and 10 herbal Viagra pills. He had a stroke that led to brain damage.
"We told him he had a brain injury," Khloe told TV host Ellen DeGeneres. However, she adds, "I can't tell him how the brain injury was caused because it will set him back. He's really confused a lot, so we have to remind him."
Odom still has trouble speaking, but he is learning how to put sentences together, walk again and feed himself, Khloe discloses, reports ESPN. He has been removed from all the machines that help his organs, but Odom has a long way to go to recover.
While caring for Odom, whom Khloe did not divorce, she admits to being in a relationship with Houston Rockets guard James Harden, which places her as part of a polygamy, Khloe says.
