'Daredevil' Season 2 Rumors: Charlie Cox Tease Launch Date In First Half Of 2016; Elektra To Change Sides In The Show? [VIDEO]

Daredevil is a Netflix original series created by writer/director Drew Goddard starring Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Wall and Elden Henson.

"Daredevil" season 2 will feature Elektra changing allegiances in the show, as well as the launch date premiere slated in the first haft of 2016.

"Boardwalk Empire" Charlie Cox has teased fans with the possible scheduled launch date premiere of "Daredevil" season 2 as he told ComicBookResources that they have began shooting season 2 this year and will come out on Netflix sometime in 2016. Cox added that "Daredevil" season 2 will likely be joined by other Marvel Netflix series such as "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" in the first haft of 2016 as cited that either of the two shows will shown after the events of season 2.

Marvel Studios is currently promoting "Jessica Jones" on Netflix as the show will premiere on Nov. 20 and Cox revealed that the "Defenders" crossover series will be in the works for the second haft of 2016 leading to a 2017 launch date.

Aside from the season 2 launch date, "Daredevil" will also feature new characters in the show namely, Frank Castle/The Punisher (John Bernthal) and Elektra Natchios (Elodie Young). The Punisher will be a ruthless vigilante in the series, causing Matta Murdock/Daredevil (Cox) to confront him due to his violent and lethal brand of "Justice".

Elektra on the other hand, will serve as Matt's old lover from his college days and it is rumored that she is part of the Hand, a dangerous ninja clan from the Marvel comics making her an antagonist in the series.

However, several speculation claimed that Elektra will likely change sides due to her feelings and close relationship with Matt Murdock, Venture Capital Post reported.

The Hands' arch-rival, the Chase will also be present in "Daredevil" season 2 as Matt's old mentor Stick (Scott Glenn) will be appearing in the show.

Marvel Studios added that Daredevil will likely have a crossover episodes with "Jessica Jones" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." soon as Marvel president Kevin Feige wanted to establish each character's individuality before jumping into another show.

"Daredevil" season 2 will premiere sometime in 2016 on Netflix.
