that iPad Air 3 release date will happen in October, a month after Apple announced the iPad Pro.

iPad Air 3 release is still coming amidst doubts that iPad pro killed the line as Apple ordered fewer iPad Pro units.

Apple ordered 2.5 million units of the tablet for the fourth quarter. This is lower compared to the 14.1 million sold iPad units in the fourth quarter of 2013 and the 12.3 million sold iPad units in the fourth quarter of last year. Apple reportedly ordered even lower number of units of iPad Pro for the first quarter of 2016.

This shows that Apple is still testing the waters with the new iPad Pro. The company is probably studying how the consumers will respond to iPad Pro before replacing the iPad Air line.

Apple is marketing the iPad Pro as the most powerful tablet yet and will replace notebooks and PCs for many people. Apple touts iPad Pro as a hybrid device as consumers can attach a keyboard accessory.

Meanwhile, iPad Air 3 features reportedly include a stunning 4K screen display and an IP rating making it resistant to dust and water. According to Tech News Today, iPad Air 3 will pack a 9.7 inch screen panel with 4096 x 2160 pixels. The screen will also have 401 ppi and 4:3 aspect ratio. The tablet is also water and dust resistant allowing it to repel dust and moisture that may break the tablet.

Other rumored iPad Air 3 features are: A9X processor, iOS 9, 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants, and 8 MP iSight camera at the back and 2.1 MP front-facing camera.

The supposed iPad Air 3 release will happen early next year. Apple is yet to confirm the aforementioned rumors.
