MacBook Air and Pro 2016 release may not happen soon as Apple CEO Tim Cook fronted the new iPad Pro will replace notebooks and desktops for some people.
Recent reports claimed that MacBook Air and Pro 2016 release may come as early as this month with some publications boldly saying that the Apple laptops will arrive just in time for the Black Friday alongside the OS X El Capitan.
However, the largest iPad yet, iPad Pro, hit the market on Nov. 11 hinting that Apple may hold its horses in releasing a new device that may jeopardize the sales of the new iPad.
Another hint that the laptops may not come anytime soon is Cook's statement that iPad Pro is the most powerful tablet in the line. He also told The Telegraph his vision of the iPad Pro as a PC replacement. The chief executive also shared how tablets are slowly creeping in the PC market being an alternative to the bulky PCs.
"Yes, the iPad Pro is a replacement for a notebook or a desktop for many, many people. They will start using it and conclude they no longer need to use anything else, other than their phones," Cook said.
Cook added that iPad Pro will highly appeal to artists and those with creative minds thanks to the tablet's stylus, Apple Pencil.
Meanwhile, the delayed release of MacBook Air and Pro 2016 is probably true since there are rumors saying that the laptops will be announced early next year.
Some of the purported features of the MacBook Air 2016 are 13-inch and 15-inch screen displays, Intel Skylake-U chipset, OS X El Capitan, Type-C USB port, and an improved battery life. The laptops will most likely be equipped with Force Touch technology. The MacBook Air will be even thinner than last time.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to pack almost the same specs and features, but with more powerful RAM.
However, Apple has not confirmed the aforementioned features and release date.
