Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin may have found a new home with the Charlotte Hornets, but it would not keep the rumor mill from buzzing around the league as Linsanity is now being linked to the Golden State Warriors.

The New York Post has revealed that Lin entertained offers from the defending champs during the offseason, but apparently, playing for his hometown was not too enticing for the 27-year-old Harvard graduate, who opted to choose the Hornets for a "bigger role."

But despite having found consistency with the Hornets in terms of basketball minutes, It is not impossible for Lin to join the Warriors in the near future.

In a story reported by SB Nation's Golden State of Mind in July, Warriors owner Joe Lacob confessed he regretted letting Lin go after he was drafted in 2014.

In fact, Lacob knew Lin very well as the latter grew up playing basketball with Lacob's son.

His close ties with Lacob and playing for his hometown could be the key factor for the Bay Area to acquire a solid role player like Lin, but the opportunity may not come in this season's trade deadline.

Lin, who signed a two-year $4.4 million contract with the Hornets, is showing signs of rebirth in Charlotte after dismal basketball careers with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.

In his first 12 games with the Hornets, he averaged 11.8 points and 3.0 assists coming off the bench. The amazing part is that Lin has been only playing an average of 22.9 minutes per game, a little less than his minutes with the Knicks, Rockets, and Lakers.

It is hard to imagine that Charlotte would trade Lin by mid-season unless something drastic strikes the franchise for them to plummet into the bottom of the power rankings.

Likewise, there is not enough reason for the Warriors to trade for Lin before the deadline just yet.

The Warriors are riding a historical start with their 12 game undefeated winning streak. With how good the defending champs are performing early in the 2015-2016 NBA season, it simply suggests the franchise does not need any roster shakeup yet.

There may be a chance for Lin to play for the Warriors again, but the opportunity could be next season or when his contract with the Hornet expires.

The only sure thing is the Warriors have consistently shown interest with Lin, and any deal in the future between both parties is not impossible.
