Manchester United Rumors: Usain Bolt Thinks Red Devils Will Give Him A 5-year Deal If They Try Him On The Field

Jamaican world champion sprinter Usain Bolt.

International track and field superstar and eleven-time world champion Usain Bolt, regarded as the fastest man in the planet, had recently expressed his interest in trying football and playing for Premier League club Manchester United if the team would be interested in hiring him.

The 29-year-old, who is the first person to win six Olympic gold medals in sprinting, said that the Red Devils would definitely offer him a five-year contract if they gave him a trial and see what he can do on the football field.

"In my mind I think I should do a trial and see if they would say 'Alright, come on in' or if they would say 'No, you are not any good'," Bolt said, as reported by the Daily Express. "I think I would be pretty good because I am fit, I am quick, I can control the ball and I understand all of the play."

"So I think if I do a trial then they would say, 'You know what, here is a contract for five years! You are 30 years old, here's a five-year contract. Let's just do it!'"

While Louis van Gaal and United fans may become excited about the possibility of having the fastest person on earth playing for their squad, Bleacher Report noted that Bolt's dream is perhaps too far-fetched at this point in time as he absolutely has no experience playing competitive football.

Technically at his age, it could still be possible but both parties need to get the ball rolling as soon as possible if they want to make Bolt's proposition a reality.
