Fox has unveiled three new haunting posters to promote the upcoming "The X-Files" series.

Fox unveiled three new haunting posters to promote the upcoming "The X-Files" series while writer Frank Spotnitz expressed his disappointment over the fact that he could not help in creating fresh material for the iconic series.

The posters had familiar captions such as "I still want to believe" and "trust no one," which captured the essential "I want to believe" phrase of the original series.

The first poster reveals a blurry image of a hand raised for the viewer to see while another poster features a creepy, distressed eye, according to ComingSoon.net. The third new poster, on the other hand, displays an unidentified flying object hovering around buildings.

Meanwhile, Spotnitz noted that he is slightly sad for being unable to write content for the forthcoming "The X-Files" reboot, according to Digital Spy.

The former writer for the horror, drama series was busy working for the new Amazon series "The Man in the High Castle" when "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter asked Spotnitz to come back for the reboot.

When the 2008 film "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" was released, Spotnitz was certain that the franchise would make its way back to the screen in the near future.

Despite not being part of the team for the new "The X-Files," the American television writer and producer is eager to watch the series as a fan, especially since Spotnitz prevented himself from hearing any new developments about the episodes to be shown.

If Spotnitz could work for both the "The X-Files" and "The Man in the High Castle" in the future, the chief executive of Big Light Productions Ltd. would be glad to take the opportunity.

The science fiction horror series "The X-Files" is set to return to Fox with a special two-night event starting on Jan. 24, 2016 right after the NFC Championship Game that would then lead to the official premiere on Jan. 25, 2016.
