A handful of Internet articles recently claimed that the upcoming video game "No Man's Sky" suffered major setbacks and its release will be delayed due to technical difficulties. While these news sound horrifying for most gamers, the good thing is that it was all just a hoax.
The truth is "No Man's Sky" developer Hello Games has never released any update regarding the game's release date. The game's Facebook and Twitter pages still retains the original release date which is in June 2016.
Additionally, the official "No Man's Sky" website still retains the original June 2016 release date schedule.
Apparently, the misleading articles went viral after speculations that the game is being ported to the Sony PlayStation 4 VR. There are also rumors claiming that the game will serve as a flagship game for the platform.
According to iDigital Times, "No Man's Sky" is still on track and all these misleading online articles are nothing more but a hoax.
"No Man's Sky" is an upcoming adventure survival game from independent video game studio Hello Games. The same studio is behind the "Joe Danger" franchise.
The game was officially announced by Sony during the 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo. When it was unveiled at the event, "No Man's Sky" became the first independently-developed game to be highlighted at E3's centerpiece events.
During the Paris Games Week in October, Sony announced that "No Man's Sky" will be released for the PlayStation 4 in June 2016. Hello Games also confirmed that they are working to port the game into the Microsoft Windows platform and that they are planning to simultaneously release it alongside the PlayStation 4 version.
