The hype surrounding the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is getting bigger as the device's official launch draws closer. The latest to join the bandwagon is the president of Xiaomi himself who teased fans with a photo of the Redmi Note 2 Pro which highlighted the device's camera and fingerprint sensor.
According to NDTV, Xiaomi president and co-founder Bin Lin shared a photo of the Redmi Note 2 Pro on his Weibo account. The president shared the image just a couple of days ahead of the scheduled official release of the device on Nov. 24.
The photo shows the upper back part of the Redmi Note 2 Pro. It reveals the round-shaped camera with its dual LED flash situated between the camera and the fingerprint scanner.
The photo confirms initial rumors claiming that the device will sport a fingerprint sensor on its rear part rather than integrating it into the home key. The front panel of the Redmi Note 2 Pro was not revealed. This fueled more speculations that the company might ditch the physical home key and instead use capacitive or on-screen keys.
According to Gizmo China, the device sports a bright gold color and very soft, rounded edges and corners. Xiaomi has yet to confirm whether the device will be available in other color variants aside from gold.
The upcoming Redmi Note 2 Pro is believed to sport a 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. At its heart is the MediaTek MT6785 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2GHz. The device will be available in either 2GB or 3GB of RAM variant along with 16GB of storage space and a 3060mAh battery pack.
