"Gravity Rush Remastered" is an upgraded version of the PlayStation Vita hit.

Sony announced on Nov. 20, Friday, that "Gravity Rush Remastered" will be released earlier than originally scheduled. The game is heading for the PlayStation 4 console and will hit the market in Feb. 2, 2016 instead of the original Feb. 9, 2016 schedule.

Sony Computer Entertainment of America Nick Accordino confirmed the new release date of "Gravity Rush Remastered" via a tweet. The new release date was also confirmed by the European PlayStation blog.

Aside from North America, the game will be released in Europe and Japan as well.

The Remastered version of "Gravity Rush" will include all downloadable contents that were released for the original PlayStation Vita version of the game.

"Gravity Rush Remastered" was announced at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show alongside "Gravity Rush 2," both games slated for a PlayStation 4 release. "Gravity Rush 2" has been confirmed for a 2016 release but the game's developer has yet to provide specifics regarding the sequel.

According to VG24/7, the announcement of the new release date for "Gravity Rush Remastered" was accompanied by a couple of in-game screenshots.

According to Engadget, the new release date of "Gravity Rush Remastered" comes as a pleasant surprise for the gaming community which suffered major setbacks lately, especially the delay of "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" and "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided."

The original version of "Gravity Rush" was released for the PlayStation Vita handheld console in 2012. The game was developed by "Project Siren" for the original Vita version and Bluepoint Games for the upcoming PlayStation 4 version.
