The "Spider-Man" 2017 reboot will likely feature Mary Jane Watson in the cast, as well as Kraven the Hunter being the main villain.
Director John Watts stated in an interview that the story of Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would focus on him balancing his everyday normal life and crime fighting as a masked vigilante. Watts mentioned several Spider-Man comics that he would like to incorporate in the 2017 reboot such as "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane" and hinted that their will be a Mary Jane Watson in the MCU, Yahoo Movies reported.
Mary Jane Watson is one of the many characters that are rumored to appear in the "Spider-Man" 2017 film next to Miles Morales, the Ultimate Spider-Man. "Fargo" TV series actress Kirsten Dunst played the role of Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" movie trilogy and "Divergent" star Shailene Woodley is rumored to be cast to play the character, although Marvel Studios has not yet made a statement regarding her casting.
Aside from Mary Jane Watson, it seems that Kraven the Hunter is still the number one villain that Sony and Marvel Studios wanted in the "Spider-Man 2017" as Marvel president Kevin Feige stated that he does not want to incorporate villains from past "Spidey" films and wants to introduce characters that have yet had a live-action appearance, Youth Health reported.
Previous reported revealed that other Spider-Man villains are also being considered aside from Kraven such as Scorpion, Vulture, Chameleon, Mysterio and Morlun.
Marvel Studios is also being rumored to develop other famous Spidey stories as the "Spider-Verse" arc is being planned for future projects.
Spider-Man will appear first in "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016 and his new solo film on July 28, 2017.
